Borrowing a laptop at the Law Practice Library
30 wireless laptops are available for loan from the enquiry desk.  They can be used in the Law Practice Library to connect to the University network to access software, your personal file space, library resources etc.  Laptops can be borrowed for two hour periods.  You will need a Northumbria smartcard to use this service.

Using your own laptop in libraries and around the University
Laptops may be used in City and Coach Lane libraries - it is recommended you do not use the University power supply in case of power surges. Sound should be disabled. To connect to the University network you will need a wireless card (to the IEEE standard 802.11b/g) in the machine. This can be purchased from the University Shop in Ellison Building.

Instructions on how to configure your machine for the University network and general information on the University wireless network is available from the enquiry desk at City Campus library and the help desk at Coach Lane library.
