Staff - Including Retired Staff

To obtain a staff smartcard you should complete a staff registration form, available from Library Registration Desk.  This form should be authorised by your Head of Department.  You may access an electronic version of this form by clicking the link on the right of this page.  Alternatively, bring a letter or contract information confirming your appointment, to the Library Registration Desk at City Campus or Coach Lane.

If you are on a fixed term contract which has been extended you can re-register by completing a staff extension form, available from the link on the right of this page.

Retired staff members of Northumbria University are entitled to continue to use the University Library. Contact the Library Registration Desk at City Campus or Coach Lane.

Visiting lecturers and non-Northumbria staff who wish to register with the Library should complete the visiting lecturer registration form, available from the link on the right of this page.

SCONUL Access Scheme is a scheme that allows staff registered with Northumbria University Library access to a large number of Higher Education institution libraries across the UK and Ireland.  More information about this scheme can be found from the link under Using Other Libraries.
