Core Opening Hours (during semesters) operate

Staffed services close 10 minutes before the end of core opening hours. Smartcard registration ends 30 minutes before staffed services close.
Times outside these periods are designated  Self-service Opening Hours
You can continue to study, consult library stock, use the self service and IT facilities during self-service hours.

What identification must I have to gain entry during self-service opening?
Entry is by University Smartcard only.  Without this you will not be allowed into the building.
Anyone who does not have a University Smartcard will be advised to return to the Library during core opening hours.

For your safety the Library staff have the authority to refuse entry to the building.

Fire Alarm
In the event of a fire the alarm will sound, everyone must leave the building immediately. Please observe the fire exits and do not use the lifts.
Anyone who may need help to leave the building in an emergency should report to the Library Welcome Desk, when they first enter the building.

Eating and drinking facilities
At City Campus, the library shop will offer fresh tea & coffee and other supplies in addition to vending services for hot and cold drinks. Snacks and confectionery are available in the Library basement and on the first floor. At Coach Lane Library, vending services for hot and cold drinks are available from the Learning Cafe on the ground floor. 
Hot drinks and snacks must not be taken to other floors in the Library. Hot food is not permitted in Library premises.
