Licence Information
To facilitate learning and teaching, the University centrally funds licenses from rights organisations.
Copyright licensing agreements allow Northumbria students and staff to legally copy material. The copying allowances granted by each rights organisation is given in the licence statements given below.
All these licenses require the University to record and monitor usage. Where a licence allows Northumbria staff and students to copy material for personal academic use e.g. CLA photocopying licence, there is no need to notify the Copyright Clearance Centre of this copying.
All copying for teaching purposes must be notified to the Copyright Clearance Centre. Where the copying and/or uploading is to be done by a central service e.g. Reprographics, the Copyright Clearance Centre will issue a permission form.
For copying outside a licence limit, contact the Copyright Clearance Centre.
