Work while you study
You are expected to be aware of your own study commitments and not to take jobs that will adversely affect your academic work. During term-time, full-time students are not allowed to exceed 16 hours per week for campus-based jobs. We strongly recommend that full-time students work no more than 16 hours per week in total when working for other employers, or if they have employment both on and off campus. If you are worried about taking on paid employment, would like advice on your financial situation, or would like to discuss your options, the Welfare and International Advisers, are there to help. Visit Student Support and Wellbeing reception in Northumberland Building to speak to an adviser.
Please note: If you are applying for work you may be asked to prove your right to work in the UK, see the relevant section for UK/EU and international students. This is a legal requirement and there are specific documents that you must show.
