Making applications
Applying for a job, whether part-time or your graduate position can take time, but it is worth putting the effort in. You may be offered different advice on what a CV should look like or what to put on your application form and often views can conflict, which can be frustrating. Our advice is based on both training and experience.
Our careers advisers are professionally qualified in careers guidance, and have experience of speaking to employers to find out what they're looking for and to students/graduates on what has worked for them. If you're not sure what to apply for or what direction you want to take, call into the Careers Centre, speak with a member of the information team or get some guidance from a Careers Adviser.
For 1-1 support bring a copy of your CV or your application form and a Careers Adviser can go over it with you during a duty session - no appointment needed!.
For a wealth of resources in one location - call into the Careers Centre - a member of the information team can help guide you through what's available or browse at your leisure.
IMPORTANT - Current students can see a host of resources on the e-learning portal. These include job searching tips for specific courses/schools. To access these log on and go to the Student Services tab and select the Careers and Employment. On the left hand menu select Resources for Schools.
