Hindu Society

The Hindu society is a student-led group that represents and provides for any student following or interested in Hinduism, and its related faiths; including Sikhism, Buddhism and Jainism.  For more local information go to www.hindutemple.co.uk .

There are regular opportunities to delve into Bollywood, traditional cuisine and culture. We welcome students from Northumbria University and Newcastle University. We are affiliated to the Union Society at Newcastle University and are led by an elected Executive Committee of various faiths. We are responsible for organising services and relevant educational talks at Newcastle University Chaplaincy Centre – 19/20 Windsor Terrace (behind the Civic Centre).

We provide the opportunity for students to attend events such as Diwali and Navratri in Newcastle, to go to the Temple and to meet and socialise with others from a Hindu background or those who just want to learn (more) about the Hindu way of life.

There is also the opportunity to participate in sports on a regular basis. Or, if you fancy something more relaxing, join us for any of our many Bollywood film showings throughout the year or perhaps one of our days out.
