Friends International

The student friendship project, Friends International, is a volunteer opportunity which aims to help new international students make friends with students from all over the world The main objectives are:
  • To help newly arrived international students adjust to their new life at Northumbria University and to give them the opportunity to familiarise themselves with student culture.
  • To bring together students who wish to meet students from around the world and to provide a framework of support for this.
  • To provide all students with the opportunity to gain experience and understanding of different cultural perspectives represented in the university.
  • To increase student awareness of the support and opportunities available to them both in the university and in the local area.
  • To discover the best of Newcastle and UK and have fun!

Are you student with a least  1years experience of study

Do you want to make friends from all over the world and develop valuable skills for your CV at the same time?

Then why not  become a

Friends International  Volunteer

 

As a volunteer you will:

 Meet new and interesting people from across the globe 

Learn about new cultures and places you didn’t know existed 

 Help new students settle in to life in Newcastle and the UK

 Receive training in cultural awareness, communication & interpersonal skills 

 Get a certificate of participation for your CV 

Participation will contribute towards the new Global Citizenship Award
