Shine! & Shine Plus! Two chances to win!
Shine! International Student Awards 2012 is an exciting competition that celebrates the achievements of international students and their contributions to life in the UK. Shine! is run by the British Council, the UK's international organisation for educational opportunities and cultural relations.
“By telling us about the things that make your time in the UK so exciting and rewarding, you can earn some well-deserved public recognition and prestige for your out-of-class achievements.
It’s easy to enter:
Simply write a letter to someone back home telling them all about your time in the UK and how the UK has challenged and excited you. You can talk about ways in which you feel you have contributed to life at university and in the surrounding community and send the letter to us online at www.educationuk.org/shine.
The panel of judges – other students, education professionals and British Council colleagues – will choose the best letters to become shining examples of UK life for future international students.”

Northumbria International Student Awards
If you enter the Shine! International Student Awards 2012, you can double your chances of winning by also entering the Shine Plus! Northumbria International Student Awards at the same time.
ShinePlus! Offers prizes of £350, £250 and £150 for the best three entries and five prizes worth £50 for each of the runners-up.
How to enter
Once you have submitted your entry letter for Shine!simply send the same letter to us at sv.welfareandinternational@northumbria.ac.uk and you will be entered into Northumbria’s Shine Plus! competition.
