Finance Director

Chris Reilly

Chris Reilly is the University's Finance Director. He joined Northumbria in July 2011 and is responsible for the Finance and Planning Department, which includes Planning, Management Accounts, Financial Accounts and Systems, Treasury Management, Budgeting, Credit Control, Debt Management, Purchasing and Procurement. Chris's role also means he oversees IT and Campus Services.

From 2010 to 2011, Chris was Chief Financial Officer at the University of Hull, he was was Managing Director for Blockbuster Italy from 2007 until 2010, and Chief Executive at NAAFI (Navy, Army, Air Force Institutes) from 2001 to 2007 and Financial Director at Blockbuster UK from 1997 to 2001. Chris' earlier financial career included working for House of Fraser as Commercial Controller and for Bodyshop UK as Finance and Property Director. Chris has also held Financial Controller positions at Woolworths and Rumbelows/Thorn EMI.

Chris became a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in 1983 and attained an MBA in retailing and wholesaling at Stirling University in 1999.

Chris is a member of the Vice-Chancellor's Executive Group and reports directly to the Vice-Chancellor.
