Professor Paul Croney BA (Hons) MA MCIPD
Professor Paul Croney is Pro Vice-Chancellor (Learning and Teaching). He leads the University’s international development activities, forging academic partnerships with distinguished institutions worldwide, and working to maintain Northumbria University’s position as one of the United Kingdom’s top recruiters of students from outside of the European Union. Northumbria University has 36,000 students, and Professor Croney is responsible for the overall quality and the effective delivery of academic programmes in a broad range of disciplines at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate level. He also has significant experience in the formulation and provision of higher level and executive education to the University’s corporate partners. Professor Croney works closely with Academic Schools and the Academic Services directorate to maintain an outstanding student experience, and he is the regular point of contact between the University Executive and Northumbria Students’ Union.
Before taking up leadership roles in Higher Education, Professor Croney worked in the banking, finance, human resource management and industrial relations sectors. His principal scholarly interests are in Human Resource Strategy and Leading Strategic Change.
