Develop your People

Some say that employers have a duty to develop their people. We see it as an opportunity to unlock additional value for your business – one which we can help you take.

Contact UsOur staff are internationally respected for their research and teaching and have experience of workforce development to support enhancing the company skill base.

We offer formal programmes in part time and blended learning modes as well as tailored education and training developed for specific clients and working with industry partners. Recent examples of this would be:

  • MSc Pipeline Engineering for Saudi Aramco. This is a bespoke programme in which the University is working closely with the client and an industry partner [Penspen Ltd] to blend distance and in country delivery to ensure a quality, company specific postgraduate course allows their employees to obtain a qualification while still being actively employed in the industry.
  • Gateshead Council – Excellence in the Management of Projects programme. The client was seeking to extend the skill base of their Project Managers and we worked closely with them to produce and deliver a programme in which the delegates were actively engaged in developing new skills through extending their knowledge and their ability to critically analyse their work with a view to increasing their personal effectiveness.
  • The Concrete Society. We are active supporters of the society in assisting to expand the discipline though working with industry partners to ensure that a two way engagement between students and industry is nurtured and developed.
  • Asta Developments. We support the company by delivering CPD courses that integrate their existing and widely-used Asta Powerproject planning software with Building Information Modelling (BIM), enabling users to link project plans and 3D models. Through our Building Information Modelling (BIM) joint venture company, BIM Academy, we provide training in the digital design, build and maintenance of high quality and energy efficient buildings for a variety of UK and overseas clients.
