Professor Roy Sandbach

National Innovation Centre for Ageing, Former Director

Professor Roy Sandbach has many leading connections in the North East. Apart from being a visiting Professor at Northumbria University, he supports the Centre for Life where he is a trustee and also, the research commercialisation programme across 4 NE Universities, Northern Accelerator, where he is Chair.

Professor Sandbach works in partnership with Tees & Wear Reform Prisons where he is Chair, on the Data and Insights Board.

Sandbach was awarded an OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours 2017, for his incredible dedication and services to science, innovation and skills.
