Global Operations and Supply Chain Competitiveness (GLOPSCO)

The GLOPSCO RIG is a research group with the aim of promoting socilisation and networking of research activities and outputs and also multi-disciplinary research activities integrated with enterprise development.

The key research focus of this research group is in global operations and supply chain competitiveness and improvement, but due to the nature of this topic there will be an opportunity of cross-disciplinary approach amongst various fields and disciplines.  The scope of this research group is a contemporary element with significant research and knowledge development that encourages research in practice (action research), and empirical research. These elements may include digital supply chain (digital operation/business), agile and lean supply chain and operation, and service and manufacturing quality supply chain and operations.

Operations and Supply Chain Management is a recognised academic discipline with number of different high-ranking journals and conferences. However, our research group will have distinctive approach to this via “Internationalisation” and “Competiveness” contexts that sometimes the inter-face between these two makes this discipline more interesting. In fact, the inter-face of efficiency, digitalisation, quality, globalisation and three bottom line sustainability (Environmental, Social and Economic) is an augmenting and interesting area for both research and practice. Local, national and international enterprises, social enterprises, manufacturing and service SMEs and their larger counterparts and broader community will find our research activities and publication useful.
