Northumbria Centre for Innovation Regional Transformation and Entrepreneurship (iNCITE)

Northumbria Centre for Innovation, Regional Transformation and Entrepreneurship (iNCITE) is a research centre based in Northumbria University covering a range of topics linked with innovation, entrepreneurship and regional development.

We aim to undertake research and knowledge exchange activities in partnership with government, business and other organisations, collaborating regionally, nationally and internationally.

iNCITE is largely based in Newcastle Business School, but with members from other parts of Northumbria University and beyond. We primarily focus on the following research themes:

• The governance of innovation, science and knowledge

• Universities, commercialisation and regional engagement

• Entrepreneurship and SME development, rural enterprise

• Regional governance and leadership, and the process of regional development

• Creativity and place including creative and cultural industries, and tourism strategies
