Our Alumni
Santander Universities UK has worked in partnership with Northumbria University since 2015, donating £1.5 million to support high-quality education, enterprise and employability programmes that benefit students, alumni and University staff. They have pledged to continue this support and committed a further £150,000 of funding until 2025.
The Santander Open Academy is a free digital learning platform open to all providing long term learning opportunities with over 1,000 courses, content and scholarships per year, which are continually updated. You will also earn credentials and certificates to achieve your goals and you can learn anywhere, anytime, all for free!
The platform offers a user-friendly interface with an array of educational resources and skill-enhancing content through audiobooks, podcasts, videos and e-books in addition to online courses and scholarships. Users of the platform can expect to enhance their career prospects and acquire valuable skills that align with the demands of today's job market with topics such as digital skills, leadership, tech, sustainability, business skills and much more.
As a graduate, you can take advantage of all these opportunities for free while supporting future generations of Northumbria students. For every registration on the platform, Santander will donate £1.20 to the University’s Higher Education Without Barriers Fund which provides a range of financial initiatives, mental health and wellbeing services and community-based projects to make participation and progression in higher education more achievable for academically talented students regardless of their social or economic circumstances.
You don’t need to be a Santander customer to access the Open Academy and if every member of our Alumni Association registered on this platform, we could raise over £283,000 for the Fund.
