Organisational Partnerships

Working in Partnership.

Corporate Partnerships not only support the University financially, they provide our students with opportunities to develop their skills, boost their employability and gain valuable insights from sector leaders and inspirational career role models.

Santander Universities UK has been a partner of Northumbria University since 2015 and in that time has supported Northumbria students and graduates in wide variety of ways. From funding paid internships at SME’s to supporting Enterprise Experience Weekends for aspiring entrepreneurs, the impact of their support is far reaching.

‘Santander Universities UK donate to Northumbria University because we believe and know they have the capability to deliver sophisticated projects that produce meaningful impact for young people. They’re very much Intune with our ambition and our vision, to help students gain access to education, gain employability and have that entrepreneurial mind-set to start their own business.’ Matt Hutnell, Director, Santander Universities UK

Agile Business Consortium is another example of how a business can deliver fantastic opportunities for students. Through the delivery of guest lectures, scholarship provision and grants for graduate business start-up, the professional body for business agility is supporting students in developing an agile mindset to enable them to respond quickly to threats and opportunities in a business arena keeping a competitive edge.

The partnership was first developed through alumnus and former Consortium CEO, John-Mark Williams in 2019, who was keen to revisit campus and offer today’s students the opportunity to develop their agility skills.

“The future is unpredictable, and with the world and its technology changing ever faster, it is creating greater uncertainty to our needs and requirements. Businesses that embrace agile can adapt faster; delivering little and often, testing the environment and remaining customer focused.” John Mark Williams, Msc Business Administration, 2005

Trust and Foundation Grant Funding

Northumbria University works with Trusts, Foundations and other grant-making organisations that share and are keen to support its strategic ambitions.

The University warmly welcomes the opportunity to work with international, national and regional charitable funders that give grants to universities to achieve joint philanthropic outcomes. This could include supporting current students who are most in need, opening up new research and educational opportunities, developing new facilities, or enabling people to access higher education when they may, otherwise not have had the opportunity to do so.

Trust and Foundation grants, either revenue or capital, can help so many different aspects of the University, whilst also enabling funders to maximise their community impact and achieve their charitable goals.
