Alumni Telethon 2021

Northumbria University’s spring Alumni Telethon will be taking place from 18 April - 2 May 2021. Over the course of the campaign, our team of student callers will reach out to over 2,000 Northumbria Alumni to find out about their memories and experiences of Northumbria and hear about where life has taken them since.

The calls will also be an opportunity for alumni to hear updates from the university and learn about how we have responded to the challenges brought by the pandemic. They also provide a unique opportunity for current students to interact with graduates and in many cases, students can gain valuable advice and inspiration for their own future careers.

Meet the team

Jacob

I’m Jacob and I am a second year student studying Business with Economics. Next year, in my third year, I plan to study abroad in Norway and the USA. I have been passionately involved in both the Radio and Running society. I love to run, mostly long distances as well as exploring the great outdoors on my mountain bike with friends. I am so excited to be part of the telethon team, and look forward to sharing the amazing experiences I’ve had at Northumbria.

Charlotte

I am a Conservation of Fine Art's student where I specialise in the conservation and restoration of Easel paintings. Working in a traditional Artists' Colourmen Store and teaching young people to draw in the museum environment in London led me to the conservation profession and I'm excited to undertake placement this summer at the Victoria & Albert Museum. I joined the campaign as a student who has been a recipient of support from the University Access to Learning Funds and Anna Plowden Conservation Scholarship; I appreciate the opportunity to be supported in further education and have enjoyed every minute of studying at Northumbria.

Daryan

I’m Daryan, I’m really looking forward to being part of the telethon team and learning more about the different paths Northumbria alumni have taken since graduating. I am further motivated by the fact that it is all for a great cause on top of the fact it can further enhance my inter-personal skills.

Francesca

Hi, my name is Francesca and I am a first year History & Politics student. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and going on walks. I have really enjoyed my time and Northumbria so far, and I feel that taking part in this campaign is a good way to give back to the university.

Tiegan

I'm Tiegan and I'm in my second year at Northumbria studying Law. In my spare time, I love baking and doing anything crafty. I also run a small business selling ethical jewellery and hope to one day launch a collection that can be sold in high street shops. I applied to be on the team as I thought it would be a great opportunity for me to strengthen my communication skills. I also really want to help maintain the great community Northumbria has, including with those who have already graduated.
