What are you doing now?Oana Borhan

I currently work as Artwork Administrator for, one of the longest running T-shirt printers in the UK. As well as designing artworks for production and printing, I am responsible for redesigning the user’s online experience, making new contacts and fostering a positive working environment.

What was it about Northumbria that made you decide to study here?

Northumbria offered a unique course that was a hybrid of front-end design and back-end development, both of which I felt were key skills to advance on my chosen career path.

What was it like studying at Northumbria?

My experience at Northumbria was fantastic. In particular, the student support and guidance, facilities and course structure combined to make a great learning experience. I would rate my experience as excellent.

What was the best thing about your course?

Not only learning how easy it is to use and programme software, but how easy it can be to use these skills to affect positive change in your field.

How did studying at Northumbria help you achieve your career goals/ give your career an edge?

I have always received the help and guidance necessary for me to make decisions in my career. I have learned many things which I use every day in my professional life.

Which skills/knowledge did you learn on your course that you use most now throughout your career?

Almost all of the design techniques I learned at Northumbria I still use today.

What did you enjoy most about your time at Northumbria University?

It is one of the best academic environments to develop your personal and intellectual skills, with lots of resources and an amazing teaching staff.

What advice would you give somebody who is considering studying at Northumbria?

Do it! It really was a fantastic experience, both the University itself and the course.

How would you describe your time at Northumbria in three words?

Simply the best.
