Studying towards my masters.

What was it about Northumbria that made you decide to study here?

As a student from Northern Ireland I wanted to study over the water. The fantastic sporting facilities and excellence for sport attracted me initially to the university.

What was it like studying at Northumbria?

There was a good mix of all types of lecture delivery. My module leaders and programme leader were all very helpful and made the course a lot easier.

How connected was your course with industry?  

I didn’t have a placement but we often had guest lectures across all modules.

What was the best thing about your course?

The programme leader was fantastic and very helpful. There was a great range of modules.

How did studying at Northumbria help you achieve your career goals/ give your career an edge?

I enjoyed living across the water and I feel I gained personal and academic achievements by studying at Northumbria.

Which skills/knowledge did you learn on your course that you use most now throughout your career?

Understanding good quality literature and peer reviewed journals etc.

What did you enjoy most about your time at Northumbria University?

The student life but most importantly the sport.

What advice would you give somebody who is considering studying at Northumbria?

Never give up. There’s support all around you so use the resources that are available to you.

How would you describe your time at Northumbria in three words?

Empowering, fun and worthwhile.
