I have an interest in languages and communication, and a deep love of art.

What are you doing now?

I am a teacher of French and Spanish in a secondary school.

What was it about Northumbria that made you decide to study here?

The fact that they offered an MA that I could combine with my full-time job.

What was it like studying at Northumbria?

Excellent.

What impressed you most about our academic staff?

Their knowledge and availability. How supportive, helpful and inspiring they were.

How connected was your course with industry?

There were very interesting lectures.

How did studying at Northumbria help you achieve your career goals/give your career an edge?

I have been able to practice art. Winning the Artist teacher award also meant that my work was exhibited at BALTIC.

What was the best thing about your course?

Being able to move my art forward.

Which skills/knowledge did you learn on your course that you use most now throughout your career?

Resilience, not give up thinking that I have run out of ideas.

What did you enjoy most about your time at Northumbria University?

Discussions with lecturers and peers.

What advice would you give somebody who is thinking of studying at Northumbria?

Go for it!
