Career Path: Account Manager, Drummond Central
Location: UK

Describe your current role and responsibilities.

Managing a range of accounts from Tyne and Wear Metro, to Rustoleum and Zinsser. Organising agency resource, liaising with clients and writing creative briefs. The ultimate role for someone who’s organised and loves a challenge.

Why did you decide to study Fashion Communication at Northumbria?

A really good reputation, as well as the variety of the course, it gave me a really good understanding of a breadth of mediums which really helps in my current role.

What are the most useful skills that Fashion Communication taught you?

Understanding briefs! And working with clients, as well as working to deadlines and thorough research.

Did you get any work experience / internships while studying?

Unlike a lot of my peers, no. I got a part time role working for a bar and restaurant doing social media but other than that I worked in retail as couldn’t afford to not work. I did a 3 day placement with Warehouse in London as part of my FMP.

What is the one piece of advice you would give this year’s graduates?

Sometimes thinking inside the box isn’t a bad thing. Don’t beat yourself up or compare yourself to others.

Describe Fashion Communication in three words:

Varied, experimental, amazing.
