Career Path: Key Account Rental Manager, Manlift Group
Location: Doha, Qatar

I was quite focused on grasping the multiple functions in an organisation, hence I worked in management consulting for about two years. However sales is something which I enjoyed and so moved into B2B industrial sales.

What are you doing now?Rishikesh Pulinholi

I am currently working as a Key Account Manager for a global equipment rental supplier.

What was it about Northumbria that made you decide to study here?

The city, course structure and exposure.

What was it like studying at Northumbria?

This was the best academic decision I had ever taken - I absolutely loved it. The University had by far the best library and online repository required to enhance my knowledge. Additionally professors like Thomas Matheus encouraged me to go beyond what I thought my limits were. I loved it and miss those days.

How connected was your course with industry?

It was optimally connected. Not to a level that the connection ruins the academic beauty or creativity in an attempt to produce human products for the mere consumption of the corporate world.

What was the best thing about your course?

Best library ever and professors like Thomas Matheus, Chris Jeffs and Sarah Heaps.

How did studying at Northumbria help you achieve your career goals/ give your career an edge?

I never thought I was someone who was academically motivated. My goal was just to gain an MBA to accelerate my corporate career but NBS proved me wrong. I developed a keen interest for management research in addition to having an MBA

Which skills/knowledge did you learn on your course that you use most now throughout your career?

Critical thinking, system thinking, the ability to understand issues from multiple perspectives and cultural intelligence.

What did you enjoy most about your time at Northumbria University?

The Business School library and my routine during the dissertation period.

What advice would you give somebody who is considering studying at Northumbria?

Just go for it if you think you are ready. You won''t ever regret it.

How would you describe your time at Northumbria in three words?

Knowledge, happiness and creativity.
