I wanted to apply what I had learnt straight away into the industry I was interested in, thankfully this has been the case.

I am currently designing electronic devices that will function glass technology.

What was it about Northumbria that made you decide to study here?

The fact that the course is very applicable to industry and the that most lecturers worked in the industry making it a very useful degree. Academic but with little theory and a lot of application. I miss it already!

What was it like studying at Northumbria?

The tutorials and support from the teachers were very good. I had direct contact with lecturers and PhD students.

How connected was your course with industry?

I started my own IT consultant business with my year in industry. I learnt lots of skills which I am now applying in my everyday role.

If you took on a placement during your course how did you feel this helped you in your career/ with your studies?

It made me highly motivated and disciplined. I learnt the importance of co-operation.

What was the best thing about your course?

The lectures and the lecturers.

How did studying at Northumbria help you achieve your career goals/ give your career an edge?

By providing skills needed for real work!

Which skills/knowledge did you learn on your course that you use most now throughout your career?

Planning, management, team work and discipline.

What did you enjoy most about your time at Northumbria University?

The friends I made and the studying environment.

What advice would you give somebody who is considering studying at Northumbria?

Choose the course and make sure you spend a good amount of time balancing study and leisure life.
