Corporate Giving - Business School

By forming philanthropic partnerships with businesses, Northumbria University enhances its students’ learning experience with funded opportunities to study abroad,undertake internships and develop entrepreneurial skills. Our partnership with Santander Universities UK provides a stellar example.

Trusts and Foundations - CIS Building

Funding from charitable trusts and foundations is transforming the lives of Northumbria University students and the wider community of NewcastleGateshead. Support from the Platten Family Fund, through the Community Foundation Tyne & Wear and Northumberland, has enabled NUSTEM practitioners at Northumbria University to run an Engineering for Families course to increase confidence and knowledge of STEM subjects for children and their parents.

Individual Giving - Library and Student Central

Northumbria University Alumni Association has a global network of more than 211,000 members in over 167 countries worldwide.  Many alumni choose to give back to their alma mater, supporting the next generation of students and funding a range of University projects, including studentships.

Individual Giving - Woon Gallery of Asian Art

Since graduating from Northumbria University, alumnus Wee Teng Woon and the Woon Brothers Foundation have supported the University in a number of ways, most recently by supporting the opening of the Woon Gallery of Asian Art and funding the Woon Foundation Painting and Sculpture prize.

Student Voluntary Action - Students Union

Northumbria Students’ Union brings students together from across all areas of the University to take part in voluntary activities and raise money for worthy causes.

In this clip, Fine Art student Ria Martin and English Language student Anna Kemp describe their involvement in two of the Students’ Union’s flagship initiatives– student support service Nightline and Northumbria’s Raise and Give (RAG) society. Finally, Hannah Dawson, Clinical Exercise Physiology MSc, explains her role in a community outreach sport programme.
