Fundraising Campaigns

Northumbria University is committed to reaching the highest levels of excellence in research, providing very special facilities for students and staff, and helping the most able and motivated students to benefit from the education we provide irrespective of their financial means.

Northumbria University is committed to reaching the highest levels of excellence in research, providing very special facilities for students and staff, and helping the most able and motivated students to benefit from the education we provide irrespective of their financial means.

Philanthropic gifts are becoming increasingly essential in enabling Northumbria to meet these commitments. More than anything else, such gifts offer us the opportunity to aspire - to contribute new knowledge, provide our students with the best possible learning experience and continually improve the fabric of our distinctive campuses.

We ensure our supporters feel part of Northumbria, are engaged in the activities they support and are fully informed of the difference their gifts are making. It is an honour to have such visionary and generous friends: they bring out the best in the University and in so doing contribute to the future of our young people, the region and beyond.

Gifts may be used to support the University in many ways. They can allow us to respond flexibly to the area of greatest need, or they may be directed to areas of the University which specifically reflect ours or our supporters’ own special concerns, passions and interests.

These are challenging times for higher education in the UK and for the students we serve. Over the next few years no one can be certain of the impact of increased tuition fees upon the number of students who choose to study at University.

With your support we will ensure that ability - not affordability - will be the determining factor in students' decisions to make Northumbria their university of choice across the region and beyond.

We would like to invite you to consider supporting Northumbria. We would welcome your generosity in sustaining and enhancing our work and we pledge to steward your gift responsibly and professionally. On behalf of the students and staff of Northumbria University, present and future, we would like to express our gratitude for your willingness to consider supporting the University in whatever ways you can.

Think Physics

Think _physics2Think Physics is a uniquely ambitious, long-term project designed to inspire, excite and engage young people – especially girls and those from under-represented groups – from their primary years to university and beyond on their journey through physics and science.

A central hub for the project is being created at Northumbria with both a physical and digital presence.  Adopting a ‘cradle-to-career’ approach, Think Physics is working with children, schools, colleges, universities, the professional body, employers, local authorities, parents, museums, trusts, science centres and community partners to produce the professional graduates, scientists and engineers of the future.
