Chris Rudd

Originally from South Shields, Professor Chris Rudd graduated from Newcastle Polytechnic, Northumbria’s predecessor institution, in 1985 with a BSc (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering.

He is now a Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Nottingham University. In 2012, he began donating to Northumbria’s Alumni Fund to support Scholarships and Bursaries. Explaining his reasons for giving, Chris said:

“I support the Alumni Fund because higher education transforms lives. Northumbria changed my life chances and I'd like to help others to reach out in the same way. We all share the responsibility to help by giving back - with our time, our talent or our treasure!”
