Northern Film and Media Careers Networking Event

The Castle Gate

Considering a career working in film and TV?

This networking event focuses on film and TV careers introducing those new to the industry to experienced professionals who can offer advice and guidance. You will gain an understanding of the industry, the type of roles available and the skills required to work in film and TV. Hearing how others entered and progressed in the industry, the highs, lows, and potential pitfalls will give you confidence to decide which avenue is for you. Access to those currently working in the industry who will advise you and help you work out your next steps.

The event will begin with a panel session discussing routes and roles in the industry and then offer the opportunity to network with experienced crew, as well as potential employers.

Networking and being able to discuss different sectors of the industry was amazing. I was put out of my comfort zone and was able to speak to like minded- people, especially from the North East about their experiences and sometimes struggles and how I can relate to that. In addition, NFM motivated me with their success stories from people leading workshops to really immerse myself in the industry and inspire change.’

These events are open to all but must have a north east base.

When: Tuesday 28th November 2017, 6.30pm – 9.30pm

Where: Castlegate, Melbourne Street, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE1 2JQ
