Pre-Fair Disability Confident Workshop

Northumbria Placements & Careers Fair is an event for students of all disciplines and years who want to find out about placements, work experience and graduate jobs. Hundreds of regional, national and international organisations will be at the fair - and they want to meet you!

This will be Northumbria's biggest ever careers fair, run over two days, with a different sector focus on each day. 

Monday 6 November 2017, 11am - 3pm - Engineering, Built Environment, Technology, Science and Food 

Tuesday 7 November 2017, 11am - 3pm - Business, Finance, Management, Law, Media and Creative 

Before the Fair you can come along and meet some leading employers to find out how to make the most of the Fair and about their disability confident work. This will include:

  • Top tips on what to ask employers at the fair
  • Information about disability disclosure
  • Information on guidance and support available to disabled students as part of the recruitment process and in the workplace
  • An opportunity for you to ask questions

Issues and themes will be similar for both sessions so please choose a session to suit. The panel of employers will be:

Monday 6th November:

  • Civil Service Fast Stream

Tuesday 7th November: 

  • Change100
  • Civil Service Fast Stream
  • EY LLP

Places are limited so please reserve your slot today.   Please note that many other employers at the fair will also be able to speak with you about their disability and diversity work.

If you are unable to attend the session and fair but would like to know more about employability with a disability then please go to drop-in at Student Central on the ground floor of the library anytime between 10am-4pm, Monday to Friday to arrange a confidential conversation with a careers adviser.
