Northern Film and Media Academy - Costume and Make up Workshop

-

Supported by Creative Skillset, NFM Academy aims to increase the North East’s crew base by identifying skills shortages and implementing training and up-skilling opportunities within production, with a particular focus on high-end drama.

Over the next 9 months we will be offering a number of Workshops which will look at how different departments work together. To attend a workshop you must be aged 18 or over and based in the north east. 3rd year degree students welcome.

Costume and Make up Workshop, 9am – 4pm 6th February 2018

Gain an understanding of the intricacies of each role within each department and their importance to the overall look of a production. Discover how each department breaks down a script to bring life and authenticity to the characters and how they work together. Find out what makes Film and TV makeup different from salon work, the additional skills which will help your career in the makeup department. Examine the skills required to dress individual characters, deciding when to make costumes, to buy or to hire.

Work out if you have the skills, creativity and enthusiasm required to progress through each of the departments.
