Travelling to Newcastle upon Tyne

By Rail

As a major stop on the efficient East Coast Mainline, Newcastle is just 2 hours 45 minutes from central London and 1 hour 30 minutes from Edinburgh and Leeds. Newcastle’s Central Station is located in the heart of the city centre and has its own Metro Station. 

By Air 

Newcastle International Airport is one of the UK’s fastest growing regional airports and has recently benefited from a £7m extension programmeWith airlines including Emirates, British Airways, KLM, Air France, easyJet and Jet2 all flying into Newcastle International Airport. The airport is under 30 minutes from the city centre by Metro or taxi. 

Key cities served directly from Newcastle International Airport include: Amsterdam, Barcelona, Dusseldorf, Dubai, Dublin, London and Paris. There are many direct flights on offer, with the airport connecting directly to over 70 destinations across the world.  

There are a number of options for delegates flying from the United States, including direct flights to Edinburgh from New York  and Chicago. Edinburgh is just a short train ride away from Newcastle. Delegates may also fly into Newcastle by changing at London or Amsterdam.

By Road

The A1(M) passes through Newcastle linking the area to London, the South, Scotland and major routes across the country. The A69 links west to Carlisle, the Lake District and, via the M6, to the South and West of England. 

Getting to Newcastle Business School at City Campus East 

Newcastle Business School is a 15-20 minute walk from both the mainline railway station and from the Quayside. The Quaylink bus service provides a reliable service every 20 minutes from Baltic Square, along the Quayside to the city centre. The train station also accessible from the local metro station (Manors) which is situated directly outside of the Business School.  

In addition the telephone numbers of reliable taxi firms will be provided to delegates in their conference pack. Security and secure storage facilities will be available for the storage of delegates’ luggage.
