Quayside Breakfast Briefing: Higher and Degree Apprenticeships in the Professional Services Sector

Baltic Place

Demonstrating how higher and degree apprenticeships can deliver and develop new and existing employee talent in the Professional Services sector

Northumbria University and Invest Newcastle have joined forces to present an intimate breakfast information event on the 28 June, at Baltic Place. The event is designed for individuals with responsibility for learning and development, recruitment and talent management strategies who are looking for practical knowledge and support to embed programmes into their workplace.

At the event, staff from Northumbria’s programme and business teams will showcase the range of current and new higher and degree apprenticeships starting this September. They will demonstrate how, within the context of the professional sector, these programmes can be used to provide a pipeline of new recruits and embed and unlock new skills and knowledge within the workplace.

Louise Dack, Training & Development Manager of Sintons Law Firm, will discuss how they have embedded degree apprenticeships into their talent development and acquisition strategy and are working with the University to recruit new trainees.

The event will provide attendees with an understanding of how:

  • Levy payers can draw down their levy to cover the programme costs
  • Non-levy paying organisations can access funds to reduce the fee by 90%

The programmes enhance leadership skills, commercial acumen and drive innovation through the application of cutting-edge business knowledge and practical work-based experience
