Abstract Submission

Abstracts will be welcomed for the following:

  • Full reviewed papers
  • Working papers
  • Symposia or round table discussions
  • Doctoral symposium paper sessions
  • Doctoral symposium posters
  • Practice-based papers (from HRD practitioners)

Submissions are welcome across the key stream areas of Human Resource Development.

Abstract submission closes on 8 December, 2017 at 12noon GMT

Peer Reviewing Process

Paper abstracts will be reviewed by two independent reviewers. Reviewers will be identified by the Stream Leaders.

The reviews would be based upon the following criteria:

  1. Significance/contribution to the HRD field;
  2. Aim and purpose clear;
  3. Theoretical foundations,
  4. Appropriate methodology/analytical techniques;
  5. Conclusions/likely conclusions;
  6. Quality of paper;
  7. Relevance of paper to conference theme

Abstracts will be scored 1 (weak) to 5 (strong) for each of these seven criteria.


Final Submission

Upon acceptance of the abstract, final paper submissions will be invited from authors.

These should be submitted by 9 April, 2018, 12noon GMT.

Alan Moon Memorial Prize

The prize commemorates the contribution (in founding and establishing the Forum) of Alan Moon to both the UFHRD and to HRD more widely. The prize is offered at each annual UFHRD/AHRD conference for the best HRD paper submitted to the Conference.

Nominations for the Award are made from submissions to the various streams of each annual Conference. Winners of the Award receive a cash sum and a plaque.
