Media Gala 2019

Tyneside Cinema

-

This year’s graduating BA (Hons) Film and TV Production students will screen their final year films at Tyneside Cinema on Monday, 17 June in front of an audience of friends, family and guests from the film and TV industry.

The annual Media Gala screening is a celebration of the achievements of our students and a showcase for their filmmaking voices.

Founded in 1986, the Media Production programme has become a part of the region’s media landscape. It has produced a wealth of talented graduates, including action film maestro Neil Marshall (Dog Soldiers, Centurion, Game of Thrones), art-house producer Samm Haillay (Better Things, Self Made) and Paul Abbott’s protégé writer Sean Conway (Hit & Miss).

Its editors have co won Emmys and its cinematographers include Lol Crawley (Four Lions, Hyde Park on Hudson). Its animators’ films have been featured in international programmes, and made interstitials for hit comedy shows like Russell Howard’s Good News.

This year we have a group of graduating students who could easily join this group of successful alumni.
