Public Policy and Public Management (3PM) Research interest Group are delighted to welcome:

Julie Muscroft, Service Director,
Legal, Governance and Commissioning, Kirklees Council 

to the
Faculty of Business & Law

 to debate:

“Diverse and complex economic and social issues in Kirklees at a time of local government austerity, and in seeking to support the development of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, looking at the future of local government and public sector services,
 and the role of the local authority lawyer”

Speaker Profile:

Julie Muscroft, Service Director – Legal, Governance and Commissioning (Monitoring Officer) has always worked in or for the public sector.  She worked for Sheffield and Kirklees Councils from 1987-1999 as a Commercial/Contracts lawyer. She then moved to the private sector working for public sector teams as a Partner at Irwin Mitchell and Walker Morris as a Projects Lawyer working for Local Government and Charitable organisations.  She moved back to her current post in Kirklees in 2013 as Monitoring Officer/Service Director.  Julie is the Senior Information Responsible Officer (SIRO) as well as the Monitoring Officer and Service Director responsible for Legal Services/Executive Governance/Procurement/Audit and Risk.
