Why Responsible Businesses Should Work With Trade Unions

The seminar will explore the role of trade unions in the modern economy.

About the Speaker

Kevan Rowan, Trades Union Congress

Since 2017, Kevin Rowan has been Head of Organisation, Services and Skills at the TUC and Director of Unionlearn.

He leads Britain’s Trade Union movement on public services, trade union renewal, health and wellbeing, learning, skills and trade union education, regional policy and devolution and plays a key role in the TUC’s broader campaign work.

He is also a Non-Executive Director at the Health and Safety Executive; a member of the Strategic Transport Apprenticeship Taskforce and is working with the Department for Education on the introduction of the National Retraining Scheme. He is a Visiting Fellow at Northumbria University.

Mr Rowan is a previous Northern Region Secretary of the TUC (2002-2013) and an Education and Research Officer for the GMB (1997-2002).
