Elena Benedetti

Elena Benedetti is an applied economist studying the environmental and nutritional aspects related to the food sector. She joined the Northumbria University Business School in October 2021 as a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance. She holds a BSc in Economics (University of Urbino) and an MSc in Environmental Economics (University of Siena). She is currently a PhD candidate in Environmental Economics at Newcastle University.

Research Themes and Scholarly Interests

Her research focuses on the environmental economics of food consumption, and their implications on health economics and human nutrition from a micro-econometric perspective. She specialises in demand modelling and the micro-simulation of policy interventions.
