Victoria graduated from Northumbria University with a LLB (Hons) Law Exempting degree in 2006. She completed a training contract with a leading North East based commercial firm of solicitors and qualified into their corporate team. Victoria returned to Northumbria University as a Senior Lecturer and Student Law Office supervisor in 2013.
Victoria’s role involves teaching a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes within the Law and Business Faculty including Company Law, Law of Business Associations and Business Rights and Responsibilities. Her academic role also involves the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate projects.
In addition to her academic duties, Victoria works in the Law School’s award winning Student Law Office supervising students who provide free legal advice in respect of company/commercial and business matters. Recent work has included provision of corporate governance advice, drafting of commercial contracts and intellectual property advice. Victoria and a colleague, Elaine Campbell, have set up a blog for the business and commercial clinic in the Student Law Office with the aim of encouraging their students to contribute articles of interest. Victoria is a practising solicitor and Fellow of the HEA.
Administrative and Other Responsibilities
Victoria is currently the acting Programme Leader for the GDL Distance Learning Programme and Module Leader for the Company Law and Business Rights and Responsibilities modules. She also acts as a guidance tutor for both home and international students.
Victoria was heavily involved in a student engagement and widening participation project, NU Law, which involved working collaboratively with colleagues in the Faculty’s IT and marketing teams. Read more here.

Research Themes and Scholarly Interests
Victoria’s main area of research interest is company law with a particular emphasis on social enterprise, their legal structures and Community Interest Companies (CICs) in particular. She is a member of the Faculty’s Risk, Responsibility, Ethics and Governance Research Interest Group.
Victoria also has an interest in clinical legal education and is a member of the Legal Education & Professional Skills research group (LEAPs) and a reviewer for the International Journal of Clinical Legal Education.
