Dr Antony Luby

Senior Lecturer

Department: Social Work, Education and Community Wellbeing

Antony has been a chartered teacher and head of department in secondary schools for 30 years; and he has been in university for 10 years - currently, a senior lecturer in education contributing to the MA Education, PGCAP and School Direct programmes. Antony's research and scholarship (PhD MPhil MTh MSc) has focussed primarily on classroom teaching and his publications address a wide range of audiences - teachers in the education press; practitioners in professional journals; and fellow academics. His most recent book (2021) is Closing the Attainment Gap in Schools: Progress through Evidence-based Practices (published by Routledge); and forthcoming is A Secular Principle: Dialogic RE from a Catholic Perspective (Oxford: Peter Lang).
