Gill McGill

Gill -Mc Gill -2_255Prior to working in Public Health, Gillian worked as a Criminal Justice Substance Misuse Service manager in the NHS and has extensive experience of multi-agency and partnership working.  Past roles in the voluntary and community sector include fundraising, setting up and managing new projects primarily aimed at supporting disadvantaged groups including young people leaving care, victims of crime and adults with significant substance misuse issues in the criminal justice system.

Gillian is currently in her second year of study for a Masters in Public Health at Northumbria and it was during the first year studying research methods that she was introduced to Dr Matthew Kiernan and the Veterans and Family research.  This is where Gillian developed a keen interest in joining the research team and advancing her academic research knowledge and skills.  Gillian joined the team in June 2015 as a Senior Research Assistant

In the past, Gillian attended Northumbria University to study Criminology, completing a post-graduate certificate in 2009.  Gillian graduated from Sheffield University with a BA (Hons) Applied Social Studies in 1998.
