Dr Sarah Ralph

Senior Lecturer

Department: Social Sciences

I took up my lectureship in Media and Cultural Studies at Northumbria University in September 2015. Prior to this I was Research Associate in the Department of Film, Television and Media Studies at the University of East Anglia working on the AHRC-funded research project Make Me Laugh: Creativity in British Television Comedy (2012 - 2015) and also a Part Time Lecturer in both the Film, Television and Media Department and in UEA's Interdisciplinary Institute for the Humanities.

I have published in Celebrity Studies, Participations and Critical Studies in Television, and have recently co-authored (with Martin Barker, Kate Egan and Tom Phillips) Alien Audiences: Remembering and Evaluating a Classic Movie, a book based on an international audience study of Ridley Scott’s 1979 film Alien.
