Exam Periods and Publication Dates

Northumbria University holds 3 major examinations periods during the Academic Calendar

  • Semester 1 (2 weeks January)
  • Semester 2 (3 weeks May)
  • Re-assessment (1 week in August)

These periods will apply to most taught programmes. However it should be noted that there are variances across the University in course dates and professional body requirements, especially on some programmes relating to healthcare education, teacher training and law. Therefore whilst examination activity does take place during most months of the calendar year only the major periods, as above, are published.

Exam Publication Dates

The exam timetable for the 2021/2022 resit period will be published on 22nd July 2022. Full information will be made available via the individual module blackboard sites.

The resit examinations will take place between 22nd August and 26th August 2022.

A static timetable will be published but will contain information regarding the date and time of each exam, more specific information regarding exam details, will be published via module sites on blackboard.
