What’s On Newcastle: September Round Up

Out and about

The last of the summer maybe fading away and for sun lovers the autumn chill in the air maybe bringing with it some autumn blues. But fear not, the month of September also brings with it plenty of exciting activities to help your summer holidays go out with a bang.

Great Exhibition of the North

And last but by no means least, if a busy summer schedule has kept you thus far from checking out the amazing Great Exhibition of the North we would definitely urge you to check out some of the events happening all over Newcastle and Gateshead before it leaves for good on the 9th of September. This summer has seen some of the North’s finest cultural venues play host to a range of fantastic events and exhibits. The Great North museum for example has been home to Damien Hirst’s Heaven (2009), a formaldehyde encapsulated shark. Heaven is the latest version of Hirst’s original inception, The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living which rocked the art world in early nineties. While the Baltic offers a time capsule to Northern beats through The North in 100 Songs pop art exhibition by Manchester based illustrator Stanley Chow.

And of course make sure you visit Northumbria Campus to visit our very own #GetNorth exhibits. All exhibits will run until the close of the Great Exhibition of the North on 9 September and are located across the Northumbria University City Campus.
