Where can I find out more information about apprenticeships and COVID-19?

Will programmes still be starting?

Yes, Northumbria University programmes are still running with cohorts commencing as detailed on the website.  There are future cohorts in certain programmes commencing in early 2021. For full details around the future delivery plan please click here

What measures are you taking to ensure the campus is Covid-19 secure?

Our University libraries, IT hubs and study spaces such as labs, workshops and studios on campus will remain open to students and staff in line with Government guidance. Ask4Help will remain open to students providing face to face support and the Students’ Union will be open with extra space for students to study or relax.

Can furloughed staff be registered onto an apprenticeship if all the conditions for starting an apprenticeship are in place?

Yes, in some circumstances. Please check ESFA guidance on this topic which covers specific issues that an employer should consider before enrolling furloughed staff on an apprenticeship.
