The motor retail sector is entering into an exciting period of change and development ranging from the digitisation of the customer retail experience and the accelerated move to online and OMNI channel retailing to the electrification and technology advancements of vehicles. The sectors transition to OMNI channel retaining and electric vehicles (EVs) represents a profound shift and like in many areas the pandemic has accelerated the pace of change. Equally, the sector is expected to consolidate over the coming years which will support our strategy to significantly grow the size of our business across the UK. We expect to be one of the top three UK motor retailers over the next decade.  The motor retail industry is microcosm of the forces that will shape the next decade and we will be at the leading edge of innovation and change in the sector.

This chartered management degree apprentice route gives you a varied and interesting job a great starting salary and 20% of your time off to do studies. About the Role:

We need innovative, passionate and enthusiastic new talent to play a pivotal part in the Group’s future growth.  We are building a cohort of undergraduates for 2021 to bring new talent into the business from a variety of backgrounds who are eager to begin a career in a growing and successful business.  Throughout he programme you will be placed in a number of dealership based roles such as Sales Executive, Merchandising, Accounts, Service Advisor, and Parts Advisor whilst over the longer term we would expect you to progress into a management role by demonstrating your ability to learn, adapt and deliver results.

Customer experience is at the very heart of our dealerships throughout the customer journeys in Sales and Aftersales to support function including Parts, Accounts and Managements ensuring our loyal customers experience exceeds their expectations. Our focus is always to create a great customer experience and answer any questions, in a friendly and professional manner. Our customers should experience an easy, transparent and enjoyable visit and want to come back again in the future. Communication is key; our Sales and Service departments keep in contact with our customers to make sure there are no surprises and they are happy with their service before, during and after their visit.

We know you will have a wealth of knowledge and new ideas, so the Vertu Operational Undergraduate Programme is a two-way street.  It’s all about sharing thoughts, innovation, and getting actively involved in shaping the future of Vertu Motors.  Not only will you help our leaders gain a new appreciation of how to drive the business forward, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact and get a valuable insight into the world of management.

As one of the largest motor retailers in the UK we can offer you a starting salary of £19,000 pa plus a fully funded degree at Northumbria University.   • A minimum of 120 UCAS points (the equivalent of 3 B’s at A-level)
  • Strong IT skills, with a minimum of Grade C in GCSE (or equivalent) Mathematics and English
  • proof of your right to work in the United Kingdom

  • Strong communication skills to deal with customers, employees and suppliers:
