Student process for change of circumstances

This process is here to support you should your circumstances change while you are at university.

This process is here to support you should your circumstances change while you are at university.  Please also visit financial implications of a programme change for more information.

The self-service student portal is available 24/7 if you need to:

We can also help if you are simply unsure of your best way forward.

In the first instance, you should meet with your tutor or supervisor as sound academic advice is often all that is needed.  If, after this, you still wish to proceed with a ‘change of circumstance’, you simply need to follow the process below:

  • Log on to ‘My Northumbria’
  • Click on 'My Info'
  • From the Menu, click on the ‘Change of Circumstances’ link
  • Select ‘Start Process’

The Student Transition team, based in Student Central, will respond and point you in the right direction by discussing what’s best for you and making appropriate referrals.
