Challenges and Opportunities in the Changing World of Social Work

Northumbria University

We are experiencing major changes in social care and this year our conference will focus on the challenges and opportunities facing practitioners working within a local, national and global perspective.

Through keynote speakers and workshops, we will cover a variety of themes including Operation Sanctuary and Empowerment; Grenfell and the Clinical Supervision of Social Workers; Social Work with Refugees and the Development in Using Simulation in Social Work Teaching.

At this conference, there is the opportunity for PhD students to share research in the fields of Health, Social Care and Social Work, through poster presentations.

Please submit a short abstract (300-400 words) by September 5th, 2018. You can email your abstract here.

We are keen for a diverse audience to represent a wide range of perspectives including practitioners, students, people who use services, carers, community members and researchers.

This conference is free to attend and we would like to invite you to book a place and come along to what promises to be an interesting and informative day.
