5th North East Energy Materials meeting (NEEM 5)

The North East Energy Materials consortium was founded in 2016 with the objective of bringing together collective research excellence at the Universities of Durham, Newcastle and Northumbria. Building on this capability, the consortium was awarded the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund-Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council funded North East Centre for Energy Materials (NECEM) in 2017. A key element of NECEM is to engage with industrial needs and seek alignment opportunities with academic research. The scope of NECEM spans solar photovoltaics, wind and marine turbines, biofuels, batteries and storage, and fuel cells. The common factor which ties these applications together is the fundamental importance of the interface between two materials or a material and its environment.

NEEM 5: Wednesday 23 January 2019, Northumbria University, Newcastle upon Tyne.

Over the last decade, renewable and sustainable energy has matured significantly and a key question is, what will be the new drivers of energy demand? In addition to addressing this topic, the meeting will include: scientific presentations from industry and academia; progress updates from the NECEM project; identification of skills needs; and informal networking opportunities.

Further details (including registration, programme and travel) will be added to this page soon.
