DATUM: Research data management
DATUM comprises two research projects carried out to support research data management activities.
DATUM in action - supported research staff on an EU project to plan and implement RDM. The project ran from October 2011 to March 2012.
DATUM for Health - promoted research data management skills of postgraduate research students in the health studies discipline through a specially-developed training programme which focussed on qualitative, unstructured research data. The project ran from October 2010 to July 2011.
Both projects received funding from JISC under their Managing Research Data (JISCMRD) Programme.
A book chapter on RDM has been published:
McLeod, J., Childs, S. and Lomas, E. (2013) Chapter 6. Research data management. In: Pickard, A.J. Research methods in information. 2nd edn. Facet Publishing, pp.
Practical exercises to support this chapter can be found here.
