MA in Preventive Conservation

The aim of the assessment scheme is to arrive at an overall evaluation of the performance of a student in the practice of preventive conservation and supporting academic subjects
with assessments designed to test the range of knowledge and skills appropriate to each module.

Students are given Module Guides which outline the synopsis, learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each module. Students must pass all components of the course.

Programme Evaluators
A number of independent Conservation Groups and teaching and learning specialists have been engaged to evaluate the quality of the course content, teaching and learning materials and  student support services.

External Examiners
An external examiner is attached to the programme in order to moderate between student assignments, respective year groups as well as providing an

The Dissertation
Students are supported in the development of a Dissertation Project that will form the basis of the final assessment. The Dissertation is an integrated study based on independent research conducted by each student and presented as a substantial document conforming to academic conventions. The subject of the dissertation may lead on from the research topic undertaken during the work experience placement although this is not compulsory.
